Who We Are
Our Senior Minister
The Reverend Brad Mullis, Rector
Brad has served as Trinity’s Rector since September 2003. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Davidson College, an M.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an M.Div. from Duke University. His M.Div work included a year of study at Virginia Theological Seminary.
You can find Brad lending a hand all across church functions. With his many talents, he leads us from the pulpit, from the choir stall, from the altar, and most of all from his heart.
Brad was ordained in 1996. Prior to coming to Trinity he served at Church of the Nativity in Raleigh, NC. He is married to his wife, Ellyn, and together they have two children, Sally and Charlie.
Our Organist & Director of Music Ministries
Julia Bozarth
Julia is a native of Indianapolis, IN, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Butler University. She has been a Church Organist and/or Director of Music since she was fifteen, having lately served as Director of Music at St. Mark's Episcopal in Gastonia, NC and Epiphany Lutheran in Rock Hill, SC. When not playing, she is a member of DAR, and a co-creator of Comfort Kids Doll Ministry, which makes dolls for foster children.
Julia and her husband, Jeff, have been married for 36 years, and they have four children and two grandchildren.
Our Children & Youth Coordinator
Jean Foster
Jean is a Statesville native and, except for a brief time in Atlanta, has been at Trinity since 1991. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UNC-Charlotte and since then has held various management positions, primarily in Human Resources, including working with disabled populations. Jean is deeply involved in the community and volunteers for Iredell-Statesville Schools, United Way, Crosby Scholars, OS1, and PFLAG. She is also a La Leche League leader.
Her greatest passions are her children, Karalee and Hawkson, who keep her busy running to and fro with their interests and activities, and her husband, Scott Rikard. Jean’s interests include politics, reading, and celebrating. (She can host a fantastic party!)
Heather Scercy
Our Parish Administrator
Heather grew up in Mooresville and moved to Statesville in 2015. She has two children; Connor, 7, and Kade, 3. Her interests include cooking and baking (she was a pastry chef for 10 years) and arts and crafts, especially when she is able to involve her boys. In addition, she is the vice-president of the Parent Teacher Organization at her son’s school and enjoys helping at the school in other ways whenever she gets the chance.
Our Pre-School Director
Amanda Goodman
Amanda was born and raised in Statesville. After working as a dental assistant, she decided to become a stay-at-home mom when her son was born. Her roots in Trinity Preschool run deep – her dad went here as a child – so when her son was ready for preschool in 2022, Trinity was the natural choice. What began as volunteering to help out at Preschool led to Amanda becoming the 3-Year Old Teacher in 2022 and the Preschool Director in 2023. What she enjoys most about preschool, she says, is interacting with the kids and putting programs together for them.
Sheena Jones
Our Nursery Caregiver
Sheena has a 16-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son, and her stepdaughter just had her first child in September. She is currently a teacher's assistant at Third Creek Elementary School and, since January 2020, has been working part time at the Statesville Rec Center. As Sheena says, “I love working with kids.” She has also worked in telecommunications at the Statesville Police Department and at the Sheriff's Office.
